Welcome to the Oak Brook Police Department homepage. My name is Brian Strockis and I am honored to have been appointed as the 10th Chief of Police in the history of our great Village. I have been with the Oak Brook Police Department for 22 years, serving the community in various roles. The Oak Brook Police Department is comprised of forty-one (41) full-time sworn Police Officers, eight (8) non-sworn civilian staff members, and, currently, three (3) sworn Auxiliary Officers, all committed to providing the very best municipal law enforcement services to our community. The Oak Brook Police Department is a national and state-accredited Police Department through the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ILEAP); two well-respected accreditation programs.

The Oak Brook Police Department is staffed by highly trained professionals dedicated to our community. Our Department is supported by and contributes to the DuPage Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigations Team (MERIT).  We have Officers assigned to the following MERIT components:  Major Crimes, Public Integrity, SWAT, Crisis Negotiation, Major Crash, Crime Scene Processing and Digital Forensics.  We are also members of NIPAS, with Officers assigned to the Mobile Field Force and Bike Response Teams.  We take pride in providing a high level of service to our residents, businesses, and visitors. One of our ongoing partnership programs is the Homeowners’ Association Liaison Officers’ Program (HALO). HALO is a collaborative effort between the Police Department and the twenty-seven (27) separate homeowners’ associations that make up the residential portion of Oak Brook. In turn, our bond has never been stronger with the community.

The Village of Oak Brook is a full-service community located on the eastern DuPage County border along the I-88 Reagan Memorial Tollway Corridor. Oak Brook is the home to the Oakbrook Center (the second-largest shopping mall in Illinois), HUB Group, Inc., Ace Hardware’s corporate headquarters, the Chamberlin Group Corporate headquarters, and many other international and national corporations retail establishments and restaurants. The Police Department partners with those organizations to provide up-to-date crisis training and collaborative efforts to ensure the safety of staff, residents, and visitors.

The Patrol Division works 12-hour shifts and responds to all calls for service. The Investigations Division is comprised of Detectives and plain clothes Special Response Team (SRT) Officers that are proactive in addressing retail crimes and other crime patterns. Our Support Service Officers work closely with our schools, Park District, and business community to address public safety concerns.

Please take a few moments and explore our website. I hope you will benefit from the information we’ve provided and understand that we continue to be committed to our organizational values of Loyalty, Honor, and Teamwork. Thank you to all!
